Sara, thank you for this post! As a South African expat now living in Australia, it was wonderful to be reminded of something that makes us proud to be South African.

Ubuntu/”I am because we are” is something many in the country aspire to, but sadly often fall short in executing on. There’s a certain “spirit” behind the Ubuntu philosophy that is hard to put into words, but you see subtle and remarkable examples of it when you spend any significant period of time in the country.

We could all be just a little bit better by truly embracing the spirit of Ubuntu.
